This precious drawing is by Emily, age 4, our first donor of the day at our Locks of Love Cut-a-Thon on Jan. 22, 2005.  Look closely and you will see Emily in the middle with her "rainbow hair".  That's Emily on the left too, holding her about-to-be-donated ponytail.  The girl on the right is the recipient of Emily's generosity - see the ponytail held up next to her head?  See how happy they both are?   Thank you Emily, for both your beautiful long blonde hair and your wonderful drawing!

Bald Boogie Bald Boogie

We love the spirit conveyed in this painting by talented artist and alopecian Leslie Ann Butler, titled, "Bald Boogie".  This woman and her friends are not letting their lack of hair get in the way of looking great and having fun! This print is available for purchase through the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (see "Favorite Links") and supports research for this devastating condition.  Leslie generously gave permission to us for the use of the name of her piece for our jewelry, Bald Boogie Baubles.  Do you know someone dancing the Bald Boogie?  Show your support with a purchase of beautiful jewelry - for her, for you, for anyone.  Proceeds go toward supporting our Sharon A. Bailey Memorial Program, providing wigs inexpensively to those in need who may not feel quite as brave as the subject of this fantastic work of art.
