I found Sherry via the treatment nurses and patients in the chemo clinic at James P. Wilmot Cancer Center, SMH, Rochester NY. Sherry was a very thoughtful and empathetic listener, and had great suggestions about where I could get other kinds of support, too [Gilda's,] and have some fun. We picked out an awesome wig for me, with color and style. Sherry showed me how to make the hair strands follow a very natural pattern, around my face and ears; a nice fit. People said they loved it, and couldn't tell it wasn't my real hair.

I found the whole experience to be very supportive, and positive, when I was feeling a little alien. I can't thank you enough for the kind of help you are, Sherry.

When I'm finished with this great wig, I'll donate it back so you can help someone else out, too!

Having seen the article about Sherry's business in the paper, I met with her in February, after having lost my hair due to chemotherapy treatments. She patiently spent quite a bit of time with me trying on hairpieces and looking through her books. I found one I really liked and was excited to pick it up the next week. Like so many of her other clients, I'm sure, I was overwhelmed at being able to walk out her door feeling "normal" again - in fact, I've received more compliments on the wig than I ever did on my own hair! I was recently diagnosed with Aleopcia and began circumnavigating the "new to me" world of "alternative hair options"...daunting at best!
